Alpha Boys School Radio (ABSR, alphaboysschoolradio.com) is a 24/7 online radio station launched in 2013 in New Hampshire, USA with the support of WXGR 101.5 FM (Dover, New Hampshire). Every song has at least one past student from the school. ABSR was designed as a fundraising tool for Alpha Boys School and to increase international awareness of the contributions the school in Kingston, Jamaica has made to world music. 60,000 unique listeners per month now listen for an average of 4+ hours pers session from 150+ different countries. ABSR received start up funding from Michael Wadleigh, 1970 Oscar-winner for the film Woodstock. ABSR is positioned as a platform for marketing Jamaican products and services worldwide. Advertisers include Wisynco, Sumfest, Jakes Hotel and record labels in in the USA and Europe. Proceeds support Alpha’s vocational and educational training and student work experience.
